I like that: “second walk to the woodpile.” last week we were in the grip of winter’s clutches, temperatures dipping to nearly minus thirty. Hard to find the poetic in that.

Thanks for the idea about tankas. Fun stuff. I mostly write poetry without any strict schemes, but I do write songs with them. Haiku I knew about, but they always seemed to be too small a palette for my thoughts. Hope you don’t mind I referred readers to your site.
